The technology will naturally fit into the logistics market and will make it more efficient in the very near future. The appeal of using blockchain is in its ability to create decentralized and unchanged registers supported by many parties at a time. Since the information cannot be hacked, damaged, or intentionally altered in behindhand, the transparency and value of the information stored in the chain increases significantly. As a result, all participants in the process will be able to access all sites, thereby minimizing the role of cargo brokers.

SKYFchain is the first B2R (business-to-robot) blockchain basic operating platform. This private blockchain system provides robots with total support for independent secure data exchange and payment channels — center logistics. The SKYFChain operating platform will be based on the private blockchain. It will use the ERC20 compliant SKYFT token and establish foreign exchange transactions for payment channels. SKYFchain is unique because its design will exclude people as an intermediary, which will have the opportunity to obtain the first industrial heavy cargo drone validation customer — the SKYF drone, which is already flying. Technically, the main purpose of SKYFchain is the integration of key information for the implementation of all market participants and organization of smart contract transactions. SKYFchain aims to create a brand-new industry for air cargo drones and later invited ground borne and marine cargo robots for new business opportunities.

The first cargo robot to transfer the transaction history to SKYFchain will be SKYF, an autonomous freighter drone (payload up to 400 kg, flight time up to 8 hours, range up to 350 km) developed by ARDN Technology. SKYF will use SKYFchain exclusively to operate hundreds of freighter drones that have already been ordered by the largest oil/gas and logistics companies around the world. SKYFchain is open to any other manufacturers of unmanned drones, including cars and cargo ships. It is also open to logistics providers and financial organizations and has every chance to become a universal tool, a standard for the unmanned logistics market. Within 5 years, ARDN Technology plans to send over US $50 million to buy SKYFT tokens from the market and use them to invest in further development of SKYFchain.

“It is SKYFchain that can unite all the market participants as based on the same distribution system. This will remove a lot of problems, starting with the approval of the delivery route for robots and ending with the calculation of insurance fees and payment transfers. Not only will this approach reduce transaction costs, increase the transparency of logistics schemes and calculations, but it will also increase the speed and quality of cargo delivery. The transition of logistics to the unmanned systems (rather ground than aviation) is a matter of a very short time. SKYFchain is the only solution able to satisfy all market participants. With the help of SKYFchain, we will support the logistics industry transition to the unmanned systems, which will result in a significant reduction of the transportation costs. All consumers will benefit from this, but especially those who are located in the least developed regions, in terms of logistics.” — says Alexander Timofeev, the CEO of SKYFchain.

To provide the financial industry (banks, insurance companies, leasing companies) and even individuals with a platform and the opportunity to operate their own robots — whether they are unmanned vehicles, airplanes or even manufacturing droids, without an intermediary. Further, such users will be able to evaluate the risks involved on the basis of the real-time data stored on the operating blockchain.

The main purpose of the SKYFchain OP is to integrate market participants onto a common platform with a unifying token and smart contract system. The SKYFT utility token, based on the ERC-20, will be used as an internal system token.

Access to the SKYF drone: Clients will be able to rent the services of the drone which is a new kind of drone vehicle. It is a hybrid, high-performing, gasoline-fuelled vehicle, capable of vertical take-offs and landing, with a useful load of up to 400 kg and a flying range of up to 350 km/220 miles

Benefit from the Community Development Fund: 20% of the revenue from the first 1,000 SKYF drones will be reserved to purchase existing SKYFT tokens from the market. This will then be used to reward partners and developers of the SKYFT blockchain.

Ongoing revenue from platform operations: Mission planning, verification and operations support will be run through the SKYFchain blockchain. This, in turn, will generate user fees that will remit to token holders.

The company believes it has a market entry strategy that is strategically poised to create a reliable customer base for several reasons.

The first is that by creating a community of users in a lucrative niche market, the company hopes to create a reliable platform and operations model that will begin to establish credibility for the industry. So far, the regulatory environment is difficult in most areas on top of this because of the hybrid nature of unmanned transportation and the relative newness of their use.

Three modifications of the platform have already been developed: the first for processing fields from the air, the second for logistics of cargo in hard-to-reach regions and the third for extinguishing fires and treating forests with protective equipment. To date, the Russian platform has no competitors among the drones of vertical take-off and landing: existing drones have a carrying capacity of less than 20 kilograms, and the design itself limits further growth. An alternative can only be manned aircraft, which is much more expensive to use.

In practical terms, the company claims the SKYF costs around US$150 an hour to run, which is an order of magnitude less than a helicopter. It can also fold down small enough that two will fit in a 20-ft cargo container. Setup takes around 10 minutes and the overall dimensions work out at 5.2 x 2.2 m (17 x 7.2 ft). The operational ceiling is around 10,000 ft, and its autonomous flight controller operates within a precision of around 30 cm (11.8 in).

According to the representative of SKYFchain Ilya Rodina, QIWI (Blockchain Technologies (QBT) is a technology company specializing in the development of digital block-strategies, block-based solutions, as well as providing consulting services for the training, implementation, and adaptation of technology) will be responsible for writing the code, while SKYFchain will provide funds for the creation of the platform. To do this, the SKYFT tokens will be initially placed with a target of $ 5 to $ 30 million.

As they say in white paper SKYFchain, the platform is widely available to all market participants and allows to implement logistics schemes and financial calculations of any complexity in SKYFT tokens. In total, 1.2 billion SKYFT tokens will be issued.

An airframe like the SKYF gives companies the chance to get a head start on long-range, heavy-lift multirotor development while the rest of the world waits for batteries to catch up. Seems like a solid idea.
